Welcome

I have retired from my psychotherapy practice – if you have visited my site to seek therapy, you may find it helpful to find a therapist through UKCP, or through the Energy Psychotherapy Network. I am completing an in-depth training to be a yoga teacher and teach classes in North Cove, near Beccles.

YOGA FOR BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT

Explore the body‘s potential for strength, balance and flexibility and learn to engage in its wisdom.

Find stillness and peace of mind through breathwork and mindful movement.

Learn to connect to your innermost strength, truth and joy – your spirit – throughout all the practices in class.

COME AS YOU ARE

Every body is different – in my classes, students each work at their own pace, and in a way that is right for their unique body.

FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH AND BALANCE

Most people know that yoga is great for developing flexibility. But yoga is so much more than that! Over time, you’ll develop muscular strength and improve your balance.

You may find that practising yoga also helps you move more easily through your daily life; that flexibility, strength and balance which is fostered in the body may filter into how you deal with life:

Being more flexible in how you respond to life’s challenges;

Finding your inner strength;

Being able to maintain balance and equilibrium in all circumstances.

union

The word ‘yoga’ means ‘union’. In class we’ll explore the union of body and mind – by bringing attention to what is happening in the body, we foster a connection between body and mind. This helps us inhabit our bodies better, and improve the quality of our movement on, and off the mat.

Through the practice of breathwork (Pranayama) in class, we will use the union of the body-mind to bring calmness to the busy mind. The way we breathe affects our Autonomic Nervous System, and through breathwork we can strengthen the branches of that system which promote relaxation, calmness, and overall well-being.

Through relaxation and stillness, there may be opportunities, if students wish, to explore the union of our everyday self with our deepest, wisest self; called by some the Spirit, the Soul, the True Self, the Divine.
