Training and Experience
Before I moved to Suffolk at the end of 2016, I worked in Birmingham as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in private practice for over 25 years and worked as a counsellor in higher education for some years during this time. I am also an adult educator, having run a professional psychodynamic counsellor training at the University of Birmingham for over 10 years, and now offer a range of training in psychotherapy, personal development and pastoral practice.
I initially qualified as a counsellor by successfully completing a Masters’ in Psychodynamic Counselling (a BACP accredited training) at the University of Birmingham in 1993, and went on to train as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy, qualifying in 1999. More recently, in 2015 I completed the Converging Streams clinical training in Energy Psychotherapy.
I qualified as a Supervisor with the University of Leicester in 1998, and have supervised counsellors, therapists and those in the helping professions for many years.
